STOP Drugs - Education Saves Lives

Funded by The Scottish Government Resilience Fund, The Gannochy Trust,  Lloyds TSB

The STOP project is an innovative and practical demonstration designed for Family members, Schools & Colleges, Frontline workers, Community Groups and business's.

The presentation offers information on:

Basic Drugs Awareness

Legislation (Misuse of Drugs Act 1971)

Overdose Prevention (incorporating: main drugs involved in overdose; physical implications

associated with stimulants/depressants; risks associated with overdose; when are people most at

risk; signs of overdose; crisis intervention/first aid demonstration)

 First Aid Skills Demonstration

Children affected by substance misuse

By attending the presentation families, staff, volunteers and community groups will be shown invaluable skills.  By the end of the presentation they will be able to:

Spot the signs of drug use.

Recognise drug paraphernalia.

Understand legislative guidelines which can affect us all in our personal and working lives.

Identify the devastating tell tale signs of children affected by substance misuse.

Possess the knowledge that will give you the confidence to make a difference and possibly save a life.

If you are a charity, individual or small community group this service is free*. any other other organisations please contact Louise for a fee. Presentations can be organised at any suitable location or at our offices in Portland Road, Kilmarnock.  Presentations can be tailored depending on the audience size and their individual requirements.  A certificate of attendance can be awarded upon completion of a presentation.

* this service is provided free however travel expenses are requested
