Kathleen is a founder member of the Foundation and comes from a sales and marketing background, running her own successful business for many years prior to joining the Lighthouse. She has worked for the Foundation since 2003. Her passionate, empathetic approach to her work has ensured the Foundation continues to go from strength to strength and that the families remain at the heart of the Foundations work. Kathleen provides practical and emotional support to families register with the foundation.

Family Support

This project is available to anyone who has concerns about a family member misusing drugs and or alcohol.....whether you have just discovered that someone you love is using drugs or your family has been trying to cope with the effects of someone's drug/alcohol misuse for a long time this project can help.

Asking for help isn't easy, we know that. That's why we try to keep our service as informal and relaxed as possible. The first time you visit us we will put the kettle on and have a chat to see if and how we can help......sometimes a listening ear is all it takes for families to feel a little bit better.

All of our activities are aimed at putting coping strategies in place for you and providing relevant information to help minimise the impact of your relative’s drug misuse on you and your family.

Some of the things that we can do for you:

We can provide information about drug/alcohol issues

We can network with other relevant organisations on your behalf.

We can introduce you to other families in similar situations through group meetings We

offer one to one counselling, relaxation therapies and respite activities.

The services are available FREE to families living in Ayrshire
