Janet has been here since May 2009. Janet has taken up a new role which looks at redeveloping family ties. Janet spent over 20 years working for the NHS and worked for Turning Point Addiction services for 4 years before joining the Foundation. In addition to her wide range of knowledge Janet brings a calmness to the team. Her ability to empathise and develop positive working relationships should prove invaluable whilst piloting the family mediation project. Janet also does acupuncture, Indian Head Massage and the Emotional Freedom Technique.

Janet holds a qualification in Mediation, accredited under the Scottish Community Mediation Network Training Scheme and has undergone training in stress management and substance misuse.

The Service

Redeveloping family ties is a project that aims to work in partnership with addiction services that offer support to individuals who are trying to move on from their addiction.

 

Our services are free: 

    Has your relationship with your family suffered due to drugs or alcohol?

    Has contact with your family become strained because of addiction?

    Would you like help to rebuild your family relationships to help aid your recovery from addiction?

 

Mediation is voluntary and aims to offer families the opportunity to hear each others perspective and decide how to resolve their dispute themselves with the help and guidance of an impartial, independent and neutral mediator.

Our family mediation support worker will seek to help resolve differences that have led to the breakdown in contact and communication within the family.
