Dorothy Hunt (Chair) - Dorothy works tirelessly on behalf of families affected by addiction. She is a current member of the Board of the Scottish Network of Families Affected by Drugs. She has extensive experience of the voluntary sector in Scotland having previously been the chair of a PTA, an executive member of Cancer Care and chair of an RNLI branch. In her working life she has set up and run a nursery school and worked as an HIV awareness trainer. She has addressed the Scottish Parliament on the report of the Scotland Future Forum drugs and alcohol and their effects on society. Her own family has been affected by drug use and consequently she has a strong ability to empathise with the Foundations families. She has been a member of the Board since 2002.

Mel Strachan (Vice Chair) - Mel has a Law Degree from Glasgow University and spent his career in the police force retiring as a Detective Chief Superintendent in 2000. Mel has significant experience of strategic Human Resource Management. He offers the Board strong leadership ability and is able to take and implement difficult decisions. Mel joined the Foundation in 2004 through his involvement with the Senior Executive Programme (an organisation which link retired professionals with suitable charities).

James Adam (Treasurer/Committee Secretary) - James is the founder of Adam and Co. Chartered Accountants and has been a member of the Senior Executive Programme since 2002. James has previously worked with many voluntary organisations in Scotland. He takes a “hands on” approach to the accounts at the Foundation producing monthly cash flow statements and profit and loss reports. He has been a trustee since 2004.

Hugh McCallum (Board Member) – Hugh McCallum is a retired business man who has worked on a voluntary basis as a co-ordinator for Victim support, a director on the council of voluntary service, a SNFAD volunteer, a manager of a homeless charity and the chair of a family support group. He is a father and foster father of 17 children. Hugh is also the UK representative on the Addaction user service forum. Hugh joined the Foundation in 2009

Maxine Lewis (Board Member) – Maxine worked for charity based companies in Glasgow for many years helping individuals from homes with abuse, alcohol and drug problems retrain for work placements. Maxine has now retrained as a holistic therapist.
