STOP Drugs - Education Saves Lives

The STOP project is an innovative and practical demonstration designed for:

Family members

Parents, friends and carers of alcohol and drug misusers

Schools & Colleges

Frontline workers

Community Groups

Any other interested parties

The presentation offers information on:

  • Basic Drugs Awareness

  • Legislation (Misuse of Drugs Act 1971)

  • Overdose Prevention (incorporating: main drugs involved in overdose; physical implications associated with stimulants/depressants; risks associated with overdose; when are people most at risk; signs of overdose; crisis intervention/first aid demonstration)

  • First Aid Skills Demonstration

  • Children affected by substance misuse

In choosing to attend our presentation families, staff, volunteers and community groups will be shown invaluable skills.  By the end of the presentation you will be able to:

  • Spot the signs of drug use

  • Identify the devastating tell tale signs of children affected by substance misuse

  • Recognise drug paraphernalia

  • Understand legislative guidelines which can affect us all in our personal and working lives

  • Possess the knowledge that will give you the confidence to make a difference and possibly save a life

 

This FREE* service can be organised at any suitable location or at our offices in Portland Road, Kilmarnock.  Presentations can be tailored depending on the audience size and their individual requirements.  A certificate of attendance can be awarded upon completion of a presentation.
