Because addiction doesn't just affect the addict......

Respite at the caravan provides an opportunity for parents, grandparents and children to take a break and enjoy some time away from the stresses of everyday life.

Respite

Funded by Cash for Kids, The Moffat Trust

In 2006 we started a fundraising campaign ‘Boys and Girls Come Out to Play’ that would enable us to purchase a static caravan.  We wanted to be able to offer families a much needed respite break.

The Moffat Trust donated £6,000 towards site fees for 2 years and Cash for Kids donated an amazing £7,500.  All in all we managed to raise the fantastic sum of £27,000.

Our caravan was purchased in April 2007.  It is situated in Wemyss Bay Holiday Park in Renfrewshire.

Wemyss Bay is an excellent base for exploring the stunning Islands of Bute and Arran, the pretty seaside town of Largs and the rest of South West Scotland.  Let the kids run wild enjoying rides and slides at Funworld Leisure or have a day full of history and adventure at Finlaystone Gardens.  This park is the perfect base for exploring the nearby isles of Bute and Arran and offers all you need, and more, for the perfect family holiday.

The caravan is available from 1st March to 31st October each year and bookings are taken from January.  To use this facility please request a booking form from your support worker

Families registered with other groups can also be referred by the group they are registered with and bookings from other groups are taken from March each year.

The caravan has two Bedrooms (Sleeps 6) and you will need to take your own bedding.  There are 2 single beds and 1 double bed.  To sleep 6, the dining room converts to a double bed.  Each bed requires the correct size sheet, duvet cover and pillow slip.
