Some of our Past Events......
March 2010 - Ceri our beloved Administrator
attended The Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and received
a award on behalf of the Lighthouse Foundation in the field of
Excellence in the category of "social Economy" by providing evidence
to demonstrate a superior level of scoring using the European Model
for Business Excellence.
February 2010 - There was a group meeting held on the 17th
of February, hosted by Rankin Barr (New Service Manager) of C-Star,
Mr Barr gave a presentation on C-Star addiction services to 13
Families.
2009
December 2009
- The Kilmarnock Children's Trust hosted a Children's party that was
held at Kilmarnock college, with 50 children attending and each
receiving a gift from Santa.
October 2009
- West Sound Community Awards. We were very humbled to receive
most nominations in the ' Contribution to the Community' category,
especially so because that specific award is voted on by members of
the public. Thank you, it is nice to know that the work we do
is appreciated.

Drawing Competition (HMP) - Winning Entries

April 2009 - A representative of the
Citizens Advice Bureau facilitated a meeting at the Lighthouse
premises for families who are Kinship carers.
March 2009 - The Community Planning
Awards. The ceremony provided Community Planning Partners with
an opportunity to recognise the commitment and contribution of
community and voluntary groups and individuals who are undertaking
remarkable work within East Ayrshire. The Lighthouse STOP
project and the HMP project won the 'Improving Community Safety'
Award.
2008
February 2008 -
Adam Ingram MSP, Minister for Children & Early Years visited the
Foundation to meet with families and staff to listen to their
experiences and their views on addiction and how it can affect
families.March 2008 -
The Lighthouse were
invited to take part in a charity special Postcode Challenge by
Joyce Falconer. The team were up against teams from Maggies,
Yorkhill Children’s Hospital and The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
We came came 4th out of
4....well done girls!! But we were still given £2,500 towards
our funds. The eventual winners of the £25,000 prize were the
Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
June 2008 - Production of High School Musical.
The children who attended the Monday night group performed 'Songs
from the High School Musical' for their families. A very
professional production which was performed at the Harbour Arts
Centre, Irvine.
November 2008 - BBC Children
in Need donated 12 tickets for children from The Lighthouse Foundation to go
along to the McFly concert at the SECC.
2007 
July 2007 - Family Funday at Dean Castle Country Park. Over 2000 people attended the Foundations 2nd Family Funday held at Dean Castle
Country Park. The day was a mixture of fun and raising awareness of
community safety. A wide range of other services attended the day which
was a joint event with East Ayrshire Council Community Safety.
November 2007 - The caring Clown visited the
Lighthouse to allow families to sample laughter therapy.
Everyone had a chuckle and hopefully she will visit us again.

November 2007 - The Proclaimers came to Kilmarnock in 2007 and held a benefit concert at the
Grand Hall in Kilmarnock. The only benefit concert in their tour.
They invited
children from the Foundation to attended the rehearsals prior to the evening
concert. The children all got to meet Craig and Charlie who signed
autographs, posed for photos and chatted to them.


The show was a sell out, and people from Kilmarnock (and further
afield) had a great evening. Their support has helped to raise much
needed funds for the charity.
2006

October
2006 - Joyce Falconer and a few friends from 'River City' along with local musician
Paul McCormick held a musical evening and auction at the Lochside Hotel in
Cumnock.
March 2006 - Psychic Fundraiser -
Lara Wells donated her services to The Lighthouse in March by
doing a demonstration of Mediumship in the MAGNUM CENTRE,
Irvine.....an entertaining and uplifting evening!
